The New York Knicks is a professional basketball team located in New York City, the United States. It was founded in 1946 and joined the American Basketball Association (BAA, the predecessor of NBA). It is one of the two teams that have not moved to the city since the original baa League (the other is the Boston Celtics). It is now a team participating in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern League of the American men's basketball professional league (NBA).

The Knicks had brilliant performances in the three different times of the alliance, with a difference of about 20 years in each time. In the early 1950s, the Knicks entered the NBA Finals three times. In the early 1970s, it was the golden generation of the team, and the team won two NBA championships. At that time, there were outstanding players in the team, such as Willis Reed, Walter Frazier, Dave Debusschere, Earl Monroe, and Bill Bradley. Then in the 1990s, the Knicks ruled the League again. Because of the appearance of center Patrick Ewing, the team reached the finals in 1993-94 and 1998-99 seasons.

The home of the Knicks is the Madison Square Garden stadium in New York. The garden stadium was opened in 1968. It is the home of the NBA New York Knicks and the NHL New York Rangers. It holds concerts and other major activities for many years. It is a landmark in New York City.

Madison garden square stadium is one of the most famous stadiums in the NBA. It is known as the Mecca holy land of basketball and Michael Jordan's favorite stadium. It has staged countless NBA classic events that fans will never forget. However, as an old stadium, it has not been renovated since the early 1990s. In 2008, the owner of the Knicks' home stadium decided to spend $500 million to comprehensively renovate the Madison Garden square stadium, broaden the stadium corridor, improve the height of the ceiling, build, and renovate luxury boxes, restaurants, toilets, and bars in the stadium, and add a 25-foot-high skylight at the entrance of the stadium.
