Basketball was invented in 1891 by Dr James Naismith, a physical education teacher at the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA.

Nesmith was inspired by the game of workers and children throwing a "peach basket" and designed two peach baskets nailed to the railing of the bleachers at each end of the gymnasium.

The mouth of the peach basket was horizontal, 10 feet (3.05 meters) from the ground, and points were scored by throwing the ball into the basket. Later, the bamboo basket was gradually changed to an iron basket with a live bottom, and then to a net hanging below the iron rim.

Finally, in 1893, it gradually formed into a basketball board, a basketball rim, and a basketball net that approximated modernity. Because the game was initially played with a peach basket and ball, it was named basketball.

Although playing basketball is beneficial for all aspects of physical development, the biggest benefits should be growth and improved aerobic power. Because basketball is a "tall" sport, growing taller or jumping higher is an advantage. During a game, the number of jumps can be up to 200 times, and the biomechanical signal from the bones is "to survive, you have to grow up"!

Studies show that 40% of bone development in girls is completed between the ages of 12-14 (13-15 for boys), and children at this age should be jumping at least 100 times a day.

Many modern psychological or developmental disorders (such as autism) stem from problems with a person's sensory abilities (the brain's ability to coordinate the relationship of information between the senses).

And when a person is playing basketball, all the senses (eyes looking at the ball, hands feeling the movement of defenders, ears hearing the calls of coaches and players, loud reminders to teammates, proprioceptors regulating their body parts, feedback from balance senses when jumping in the air, etc.) are working in a highly excited state, in coordination with each other.

This makes basketball one of the best sensory training exercises.

Basketball is a sport of open motor skills, requiring the athlete to adapt to the ever-changing moments on the court. Over time, reaction time is shortened and reaction ability is improved.

Playing basketball can release students' study pressure and not only activate the brain, but also improve study efficiency.

In addition, playing basketball can make a lot of friends who love basketball and enrich after-school or spare time life. Playing basketball is about team spirit, which can also teach people to be united and team-oriented, which can be a good inspiration and help for future life and work.

Playing basketball can exercise not only the body but also the mind and bring the spiritual realm to a higher level. Each sport has its own unique charm. It can not only exercise our mental resistance but also improve our reaction ability, as in the process of playing basketball, one needs to have enough physical strength as well as reaction and thinking ability.

Therefore, playing basketball can not only exercise one's mental tactics but also help to enhance their reaction ability.

Studies show that people who play basketball regularly have higher lung capacity than usual, and people who play basketball rarely catch a cold and cough. In other words, the increase in the respiratory system can effectively fight against respiratory diseases.

By playing basketball regularly, the body's blood circulation is accelerated, and the physical quality will improve over time.
