As the countdown to the opening of the inaugural FIFA World Cup in the Arab region and the Middle East kicks off, Qatar is revealing daily updates on its preparations for the global sporting event.


The latest news is that the country announced less than a month before the opening of the World Cup: more than 20 new hotels, resorts, and tourist destinations.


The opening of these new projects is to accommodate the hundreds of thousands of fans who are expected to come to watch the World Cup, which is scheduled to take place between November 20 and December 18 this year.


Aiming to present a World Cup like no other, Qatar is putting the finishing touches on facilities, including stadiums, fan areas, and tours and attractions that will enhance the fan experience during the event.

On the other hand, the Qatar Tourism Authority stated that 2022 will be an unprecedented year in Qatar's development and transformation into a global tourism destination.


He also expressed hope to increase the number of tourists to the country to 6 million a year by 2030.


The Qatar Tourism Authority explained that the new tourist attractions also include entertainment venues, beaches, beach clubs, cultural art galleries, and shopping malls.
